Step 1 — Find your address
In TripTidy, open Settings → Inbox. Your address is listed next to “Forward to” and looks like trips-x7k2m@in.triptidy.app. It also appears on the connect screen — tap it anywhere to copy. It's yours alone and never changes, so save it as a contact (“TripTidy”) and forwarding becomes a two-tap habit.
Step 2 — Forward a confirmation
Forward the original booking email — the one from the airline, hotel, or restaurant. Within about a minute the booking appears on the right trip (or starts a new one). A few details that make it work best:
- Forward the confirmation itself, not a screenshot or a reply thread — the details live in the original.
- One email per booking is ideal, but a full itinerary email works too — every booking inside it is extracted.
- Changed plans? Forward the update email. TripTidy recognizes the booking and updates it in place — a gate change becomes a chip on the flight, not a duplicate flight.
Optional — Auto-forward so you never think about it
Most providers can forward matching mail automatically. Set a rule for common senders (your airline, Booking.com, OpenTable) and new confirmations flow in on their own:
- Outlook / Microsoft 365: Settings → Mail → Rules → add a rule like “from contains united.com → forward to your TripTidy address.” Corporate accounts may need admin-enabled external forwarding.
- iCloud Mail: at icloud.com, Mail settings → Filters → add a rule with “forward to” your address.
- Yahoo: Settings → More settings → Filters, or full auto-forward under Mailboxes.
- Gmail: honestly? Connect it instead — Gmail requires a verification handshake before it will auto-forward to a new address, and TripTidy's read-only connection does the same job with zero rules to maintain. Manual forwarding from Gmail works fine any time.
The privacy shape of forwarding
Forwarding is the most conservative way to use TripTidy: we never see your mailbox at all — only the individual emails you choose to send. The same rules apply as everywhere else: booking details are kept, the rest is discarded, nothing trains AI models, and one tap deletes everything. Details in the privacy policy.
